Yes — usually under 60 seconds. During onboarding you'll see available numbers from any US area code. Pick one, and it's yours instantly.

Toll-free numbers are available on Plus and higher. International numbers are available on Enterprise plans.

You can port your existing number through self-service. You'll need to upload a signed Letter of Authorization (we provide the template) and a recent bill from your current carrier showing the number.

Standard port times are 3–10 business days depending on your current carrier. We'll keep you updated by email at each step. Your trial is paused while the port is in progress, so you don't lose any trial days. You can keep using your current fax service in parallel during the port — zero interruption to your existing workflow.

Yes. Every paid plan includes HIPAA-grade infrastructure and a signed Business Associate Agreement. We don't gate HIPAA features behind enterprise pricing like most providers do.

Our BAA is signed online during onboarding (it's an instant 1-click experience, captured with IP + timestamp for audit). Subprocessor BAAs are in place with Telnyx (fax transport), SendGrid (email), and Vultr (infrastructure).

We never charge you a surprise overage fee. If you approach your limit, we send you a friendly heads-up email at 80%. At 100% we suggest an upgrade or a one-time page bundle — your faxes still send while you decide.

If you hit 110%, outbound faxes pause until you upgrade or buy more pages — but incoming faxes are never blocked, so you never miss anything time-sensitive (medical, legal, or otherwise).

One-time bundles start at $15 for 500 pages and don't roll into recurring charges.

The HIPAA-grade security comes standard whether you need it or not. Your industry profile sets the right tone in emails (HIPAA badge for medical, attorney-client wording for legal, etc.) automatically.

Yes, on Solo, Plus, and Team plans. Everyone in your office uses one shared login and sees the same inbox. Incoming fax notifications can be sent to multiple emails (up to 3 on Plus, 5 on Team).

On the Business plan ($129/mo), each person gets their own individual login with audit-per-user trails. That's the right plan if you need to know who sent what (HIPAA / compliance requirement for some practices).

Email-to-fax (sending) and email notifications for received faxes are available. Receiving works out of the box — you can choose to get a PDF attachment, a secure link, or both.

Email-to-fax sending is rolling out in V1.1 and will be available on all plans.

For now, LuzardoFax supports sending and receiving within the United States and Canada. International support (UK, AU, EU) is planned for late 2026 on Enterprise plans.

Native iOS and Android apps are planned for 2027 and will include camera capture (scan with your phone), push notifications, and biometric login.

Migration is straightforward. Sign up, port your existing number through our self-service flow, and you're done. We don't require migration fees on Solo/Plus/Team.

On Business plans we offer optional white-glove migration assistance ($199 one-time) — we'll help import your contacts, set up cover sheets, and walk your team through the new interface.

Yes. Toll-free numbers (800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, 833) are available as a $10/month add-on on Plus and Team plans, and included free on Business plans.

Unlike local numbers (where the sender pays), toll-free numbers mean you pay for incoming minutes. The $10/mo covers normal business volume — typically 200–400 inbound pages per month. Heavy toll-free volume is best on Business or Enterprise plans where it's bundled.

Solo plan doesn't include toll-free option to keep pricing transparent at $25/mo.

All customer data is stored on infrastructure located in the United States (Miami, FL). Faxes, contacts, and audit logs are encrypted at rest using AES-256.

Our infrastructure provider (Vultr) is HIPAA-compliant; BAA execution is in progress. Backups are encrypted and stored separately. See our Security page for full architecture details.
